Meet Our Preacher!

Kevin Hall has served as the preacher for the Cortez Church of Christ since 2016.

He was raised in the Baptist faith in Moultrie, Georgia, and after graduating college he came to know God more accurately through his studies with the Church of Christ. During that time, Kevin was baptized and began a lifelong commitment to knowing God more deeply each day through diligent Bible study both individual and collectively.

Kevin graduated from the University of Georgia (Go DAWGS!) with a degree in Landscape Architecture and worked in that field for many years.

After the passing of his wife, Amy Hall—a wonderful, godly woman who faithfully fought cancer for five years before going home to be with the Lord—Kevin felt called to move to Florida and begin preaching full time. 

He settled in Cortez, a place he quickly grew to love. Drawn to the charm of the small fishing village and the beauty of the beaches of Anna Maria Island just over the bridge, Kevin also fell in love with the congregation he was blessed to serve.

In 2020, Kevin remarried and welcomed 2 children (Son now age 21 and Daughter now age 11) into the marriage brought by his wife Jenee, who faithfully supports his work. Kevin is also grateful to worship alongside his in-laws as part of God’s greater family.

Kevin loves studying and teaching the Bible, meeting new people, and helping grow God’s kingdom. He feels honored and blessed beyond measure each day to serve the Lord and His church.

He recognizes that the key to understanding God's word is to simply be in it! He has been blessed to spend man years studying under older-wiser preachers and among elders and other teachers. His dedication to knowing God's plan for us all through studying the bible and simply obeying God daily is what makes him a perfect fit for Cortez. The members here definitely view him as a good friend who is always ready to listen, teach and encourage. Kevin spends much of his free time with church family outside of services too. He believes strongly in getting to know each other so we can serve each other through life's up's and down's. We at Cortez are blessed to continue to learn the bible through his deep study and scripture heavy, sound preaching.
